"The original ride in The Chilterns"
As founders of this iconic event back in 1997, The Chiltern 100 is returning this year on Sunday 5th July, but with a difference!
Road or Gravel... you decide!
It's not a Sportive, so no signage and no feed stations! Instead a self-supported ride - a pure test of your endurance and self-sufficiency, but routed through the villages to ensure refreshment stops are available. This is not an introductory ride, it's a tough challenge expected to appeal to regular club riders with experience and plenty of miles in their legs, retaining its reputation as 'one of the hardest rides near to London!'
A choice of four routes
Road
- The Classic - 100 miles with over 2,000m ascent
- The Challenger - 100 km with over 1,000m ascent
Gravel
- The Epic - 85km with over 1,200m ascent
- The Explorer - 50km with over 650m ascent
Routes - provided to entrants as a GPS (GPX) file.
HQ - starting and finishing in Redbourn at the Fete du Velo. Registrations will take place at the VCC Gazebo on the Common with departures between 8-10am.
Entry fee: £15
The entry fee includes:
- A £5 voucher for use at the finish with any food or drink vendor at the Fete du Velo on the Redbourn Common
- A £2 donation to Essex & Herts Air Ambulance
- A Chiltern 100 finishers medal
All remaining proceeds go to support the Fete du Velo and Redbourn Festival Weekend.
Ensure you secure your place in The Chiltern 100, which represents a true test of your cycling proficiency whatever route you choose! Be quick as places are limited to 200 riders.
The challenging landscape of The Chilterns means that both routes are as testing as they are stunning, taking in infamous climbs (dependent on route chosen) such as Bison Hill, Dunstable Downs, Whiteleaf and Wardrobes!
